Clean Air Vehicle
Effective October 1, 2025, clean air vehicles will no longer receive discounts on certain California toll facilities. This change follows the statewide discontinuation of the Clean Air Vehicle (CAV) Decal Program.
If you drive a CAV with current California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) issued decals, you may be eligible to receive a discount on certain toll facilities throughout California. For further information on specific CAV discounts, please visit the website for your tolled facility.
The DMV issues decals for qualifying vehicles pursuant to California Vehicle Codes (CVC) §§ 5205.5 and 21655.9. These decals are issued to vehicles that meet the state’s clean air vehicle standards. More information on clean air vehicle eligibility.
Carpool
There are various express lanes and bridges in California that offer qualified carpoolers a discount on tolls. Certain toll facilities give qualified carpools the option to travel free or with a reduced toll. Some require a valid FasTrak Flex® transponder set in the proper position, and some will designate a carpool lane. There will be signs posted before all entrances. Veteran
Disabled Veteran and Special Recognition License Plates issued by the California DMV with a valid FasTrak® account and transponder may qualify for free travel on selected bridges, express lanes or roads in California. For further information on Veteran discounts, please visit your agency’s website.
